How did I meet Nine 1/2 Weeks?

9 semanas y mediaWhen I started collecting erotic movies, very young by the way, Nine 1/2 Weeks was the most famous of all. My collection included Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke. The scenes of sex and food drove me crazy and the mysterious man, seductive and attractive, demonstrates his fame as a conqueror. John demands to follow his own rules in the passionate relationship he maintains during Nine 1/2 Weeks with Elizabeth, who ends up completely bewitched and submissive.

Hidden pleasures and a very remarkable passionate intensity are discovered. While it must be said that the argument is not brilliant, the interpretations are. The succession of erotic scenes made it the best erotic film of all time. How did I meet her?

The critique of Nine 1/2 Weeks

9 semanas y media

+ The best: Excellent music, didactic (the food is good for more than just eating), impressive striptease by Kim Basinger, strong sensual charge, games of domination/submission, very successful performances, incursion into sexual fetishes…

– The worst: First 20 boring minutes, poor and unbelievable script, flat characters, very overrated, little drama, dialogues that will not go down in history (John’s first line to conquer is: “Whenever I see you you’re buying chicken”), no emotion, bad romantic film, lousy adaptation of the novel by Elizabeth McNeill …

Later films

17 years later, in 1997, the second part was published called Another 9½ Weeks, or 9 and a half weeks: love in Paris where it only repeated Rourke and went completely unnoticed. The argument is about John, who 10 years later has lost track of Elizabeth and no woman has filled his gap. A year later, an earlier one was released directly on video The First 9½ Weeks or The First 9 and a half Weeks that had even less diffusion. The plot of the third part is about new characters who start a relationship similar to Nine 1/2 Weeks.

Second part of 9 weeks and a half

For many years I was looking for the second part of 9 and a half weeks, in videostores, friends… but I never found it. But now with Internet I have found it: Nine and a half weeks II: Love in Paris. It’s a rather dull film, and Kim Basinger doesn’t appear, but the model Angie Everhart does. And of course Mickey Rourke does. There are a few moments you can enjoy.
